He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of individuals with forensic mental health issues? Emerge Aotearoa is expanding an existing service, and we are looking for Support Workers to join our Forensic Community Residential Intensive Service for Recovery, in a newly refurbished home in Tawa.
You will provide support in alignment with the tangata whaiora (clients) goals and support plans and encourage them to achieve their goals.
Working closely with community providers and clinical teams to encourage community participation, your recovery-focused goal will be to walk alongside tangata whaiora to enhance their skills and experience and enable self-management of their health and wellbeing.
We have 2 casual positions available, based Wellington.

We're looking for people who want to make a difference, have some life experience, and won't take things personally. You'll have a positive outlook, be patient and show resilience, as well as empathy, initiative, and a proactive approach.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Health and Wellbeing or Mental Health and Addiction or be working towards one
Knowledge and experience in working with tangata whaiora who have experienced mental distress
Experience working in the Mental Health Sector (ideally 2+ years)
Intermediate computer skills
Full New Zealand Driver's License
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
