He Kōrero Mō Te Tūranga | The Role

Are you passionate about enhancing workplace health, safety, and wellbeing?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in driving health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation. You will provide strategic leadership, coaching, and guidance to foster a safe and healthy work environment and empower our organisation.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Offer credible Health and Safety advice to leaders and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

  • Assist in creating and implementing health, safety, and wellbeing strategies and plans.

  • Oversee the management of EcoPortal to drive continuous improvements and support internal and external audits.

  • Lead initiatives to foster a people-first culture and align actions with organisational values.

  • Prepare and present health and safety performance reports, oversee incident and near-miss reporting, and participate in investigations.

  • Lead the delivery of the key initiatives of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing work programme.


This role offers a salary band ranging from $104,238.90 to $117,550.66 per annum. 

Placement within this band will be determined by the extent to which candidates meet or exceed the relevant qualifications and experience requirements.


Note: Shortlisting will begin in May, closer to the closing date.


He kōrero mōu | About You

  • A Masters degree in occupational health and safety, social work, counselling, or a related discipline.

  • Expertise in managing critical risks, driving cultural change, and ensuring compliance with assurance and governance standards

  • Proven experience in promoting psychological wellbeing and mental health, and delivering successful projects

  • Strong skills in preparing and presenting health and safety performance reports and technical documentation

  • Excellent problem-solving, risk management, and analytical abilities

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence positive behaviour change and decision-making across a large stakeholder group

  • Full and current New Zealand driver's licence

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
