He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
We have an amazing opportunity for a passionate support worker to join our Home-Based Facilitator team and provide dedicated support to tāngata whaiora. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of people in the community to help them to reconnect, learn, grow, and live as independently as possible. We welcome applicants who have a passion to see others succeed while you also work on your own development.
This is a permanent full-time position, working any 5 days between Monday - Sunday. The role includes rostered shifts between 7:30am - 10pm. The position will be based in Tawa.
Your duties will include:
Providing home-based support to whaiora in a practical way that helps them establish and maintain independent living skills.
Supporting whaiora with the tools and the confidence to support themselves - it's all about walking alongside not doing it for them.
Helping whaiora set goals that will make a real difference to their lives and actively work towards achieving them.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
He kōrero mōu | About You
We are looking for someone who is genuine, positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to motivate and encourage whaiora realise their potential. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships, while maintaining strong professional boundaries. To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have the following:
A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or be working towards one.
Experience of one-to-one support within the community is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication and computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries.
Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.
Eligible to work in New Zealand.
A current full driver's licence.
